PFAS-Free

What Are PFAS and Why Do They Matter?

Perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, also known as PFAS, are a group of synthetic organofluorine chemical compounds that are widely used in many products including most hydrophobic coatings, oleophobic coatings, and non-stick surfaces. They are also widely used as surfactants in various products.

PFAS are often called “forever chemicals” because of their long life once released into the environment. The US EPA and the European Commission have identified several health concerns related to the compounds and numerous jurisdictions around the world are working to limit their use or ban their use altogether.

Pellucere Technologies has been leading the development PFAS-free coatings for a wide range of applications. Check out our PFAS-free product lines and formulations below.
