Pellucere’s dual-action photocatalytic technology combines a solar-activated active cleaning process and a super-hydrophilic passive anti-soiling technology to deliver a unique dual-action active/passive anti-soiling film for architectural glass. The photoactive technology breaks organic bonds when it is exposed to UV light, while the hydrophilic nano-structure reduces adhesion forces of soils and rapidly sheets water for effective cleaning. The coating delivers greater than 99% Visible light transmission without the glass discoloration or wavelength blocking common with sputtered coatings. It can be combined with AR coatings to provide VLT increases up to 3%. The Geminas product line is a water-based, zero-VOC coating which can be applied using industry-standard wet coating deposition.
